Having initially refused a donation from a kind woman, a homeless man helped her with her shopping and now they are married with two kids.
Jasmine Grogan from Canada had offered Macauley Murchie money outside a supermarket a few years ago, only for the homeless man to refuse. But upon exiting the shop, clad with heavy bags, Murchie offered to help.

The two have been insufferable ever since and are now happily married with two kids. Grogan shared their story on TikTok, where all great stories are, and explained: “He asked if I wanted help putting my shopping into a taxi, I said yes.
“I asked if he wanted me to get him something to eat. He was embarrassed but he said yes and we went for some dinner.
“We had a long talk about his life. I went and bought him a little phone so we could keep in contact, there was something different about him.
“I got him a hotel and I went home. We kept in contact. I couldn’t stop thinking about him.”
“You’ve made my day, thank you so much for everything, you are amazing. Can’t stop thinking about you xx.” Murchie text Grogan following their meal.

She replied: “You don’t have to thank me, I can’t get you out of my mind either.”
The two smitten Canadians exchanged texts for a while before going out on their first official date.
At dinner, believed to be a beef dish of some kind, Grogan asked if she could “sort” him some clothes.
“I got him some new clothes and told him he could stay the night, but he ended up staying a lot longer than one night,” she said. “We instantly fell in love. I knew he was the one for me. He was so nice.”

The duo went on “multiple dates”, and Murchie eventually shaved his beard, got new teeth and then a job.
“We’ve never been apart since,” Grogan beams.
The pair are “very happy” together with their two kids, bringing their love story full circle.
