Forget the new iPhone – this is tech design at its finest…
Using a 3D printer, engineer Nathan Peterson has designed a machine that does something we’ve all been crying out for. Cure all illnesses? Turn coal into diamonds? No – sort Skittles by colour!
The reason is simple – just because.
The colour sensor system uses LED lights to detect the colour of the Skittles, and then a system of rotating gears drop it into a corresponding tray.
Watch the Skittle sorter in action below – it’s weirdly relaxing…
And before you ask, no it doesn’t work for M&Ms – according to Peterson the chocolate delights are “a bit smaller and get jammed easier”.
