Twitter has announced plans to remove the 140-character limit in Direct Messages as part of its messaging revamp.
The changes will come into effect in July and follow an update in May that allows users to receive DMs from other accounts regardless of whether or not they follow each other.
Twitter’s change of approach is possibly a response to Facebook’s WhatsApp integration as they look to compete on the messaging platform.
But it might not necessarily prove a good idea – expect to receive plenty of drunken rambling missives from people you’ve never spoken to before…
