Between Netflix, Email, Facebook and Twitter, the average person has a lot of passwords on the go.
The hassle of remembering them all for each sign in can cause many a person to go with something simple and easy. Which is probably why once again, despite ongoing fears about tech security, some of the most common passwords in the world are 123456″, “qwerty” and “password”.
Security group SplashData, collated passwords from a number of data breaches from around America and Western Europe and found for the fifth year in a row, “123456” was the most common password about.
It’s eyebrow raiser for sure, especially after Edward Snowden pointed out how quickly computers can solve easy passwords.
Common terms including “football”, “letmein”, “starwars” and “login” have also featured in their list, so you may want to switch your password if one of those terms are familiar.
