A taxi has driven into a crowd of people at a busy shopping centre in central Moscow, injuring eight people.
The driver, who tried to flee the scene, was caught by police, local media has claimed, citing emergency services sources.
Reports have suggested that Mexican fans gathered in the city for the country’s game against Germany tomorrow were among those hit by the vehicle. Interfax stated that none of those hurt are believed to be critical, according to a medical source.
The incident happened on the city’s Ilyinka street.The street was blocked off by authorities, but has now reopened.
Police said that it is likely the man lost control of the vehicle and he holds a Kyrgyzstan driving license.
