We love The Thick Of It here at JOE. But sometimes it’s hard to separate fact from fiction as real-life politics descends into ridiculous farce.
Take the slapstick scenes at Jeremy Corbyn’s latest leadership rally in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.
The Labour MP is riding a wave of grassroots support and hoping to prove victorious in his efforts to lead the party.
Perhaps that’s why the Conservatives sent their press officer Mike Watkinson to undertake a covert recon mission at the rally on Tuesday.
Although Watkinson wasn’t counting on Channel 4 News reporter Michael Crick recognising him and confronting him in front of Corbyn’s loyal devotees…

What followed is like something lifted from a Thick of It script, with Crick chasing after the rumbled Tory all the way back to his car…
We've heard of shy Tories… but 'spy' Tories? http://t.co/ofjS6Nopz2 pic.twitter.com/Er5qx15ZTJ
