Cyclists narrowly avoid high speed train in Paris-Roubaix race

In competitive sport sometimes you have to take a risk to gain an advantage – but this is just ridiculous.

Cyclists taking part in the Paris-Roubaix race narrowly avoided a high-speed train as they ignored safety barriers to make their way over a railway crossing.

Incredibly several cyclists put their lives on the line – quite literally – as they crossed the track just seconds before the train flew past, despite being warned by police.

French railway company SNCF has now called for police to take action against the cyclists that ignored the warnings.
