A female cop has received a bravery award for stopping a shirtless thug escaping – by pulling his trousers down.
PC Chantelle Feyzifar clung onto the pants of a 26-year-old man as he tried to climb an eight-foot metal fence.
Bodycam footage captures PC Feyzifar stepping in during a routine traffic stop as the man tries to drive away with an officer holding onto his vehicle.
The officer chased the man on foot after trying to arrest him on a roadside (SWNS)The man then punches the officer as a woman in the car shouts: “Stop, please! What are you doing?”
PC Feyzifar follows the shirtless man as he attempts to flee through the streets of Chafford Hundred, Essex.
She tries to arrest him on a roadside before he runs away again, prompting a footrace between the officer and the man.
PC Feyzifar says to her police radio: “I’m OK but… I just can’t stop him.”
But finally – five minutes after the initial traffic stop – she halts the man by holding onto his trousers as he tries to escape over a fence.
His pants get dragged down exposing his bum before backup officers arrive within seconds and pull the man to the ground before arresting him.

Another officer arrives to then help apprehend the criminal (SWNS)In a post on social media, Essex Police said: “The man was later jailed for four years and three months after admitting assault causing actual bodily harm, assaulting an emergency worker, dangerous driving and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
“He was also banned from driving for four years and eight months and ordered to pay £600 compensation and £200 costs.
“Chantelle, from our Grays Local Policing Team, was last year awarded the force’s Wilson Trophy for ‘outstanding act of the year’ for her brave actions in the incident on January 14, 2020.”
