These will be handy

How well will these go down with users?

If you’re like us, you spend a significant portion of your day on Facebook Messenger, thanks to that damn tempting circular pop-up that shows up every time you get a notification.

Curse its attractive presentation.

Well, according to TechCrunch, the social media giant are releasing a few new features to the app that are nothing extreme, but are a pretty slick addition at the same time.

For starters, users will now know exactly who you chat to the most, courtesy of the new ‘Favourites’ feature, which will appear along the screen.

Additionally, Messenger users will now apparently alert you as to when your friends are ‘Active Now’, thanks to a green button appearing next to their name; the same option that is available on desktop. While this has been a feature on some versions of the app before, we assume this will mean it actually works this time.

Messenger will also inform you about your friends’ birthdays, so you’ll never, ever, ever forget the special days of your nearest and dearest again, as long Facebook is concerned.
