Former Celebrity Big Brother contestant Heavy D has died at the age of 43, his friend has confirmed.
The reality star, whose real name was Colin Newell, is said to have passed away this week.
‘I’m very shocked & saddened to hear of the passing of my friend @HeavyHeavyd,’ read a tweet from his friend, Nick Nevern, who praised him for living his life the way he wanted to.

As well as his appearances on Celebrity Big Brother in 2016, Heavy D was a passionate Arsenal supporter and featured regularly on Arsenal Fan TV over recent years.
A tweet from @AFTV media also expressed their shock at the news of the 43-year-old’s passing.

As of yet, the cause of Heavy D’s death is unknown. He continued to be active on social media until November 14, when he posted his last tweet.
Since the news emerged, many have paid respect to him on social media, with Heavy D trending on Twitter in the UK as a result.
