Jeremy Corbyn has been reinstated to the Labour Party after a 19-day suspension, the Guardian are reporting.
Corbyn had initially been suspended for his response to the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) report into antisemitism in the party.
The former Labour leader disputed its findings and said the problem was “dramatically overstated for political reasons” by opponents and the media.
Keir Starmer faced backlash from Corbyn supporters following the decision to suspend him, with public opinion of the party shifting further towards “divided” than beforehand.
Corbyn issued a statement earlier on Tuesday apologising for any hurt caused by his original response to the EHRC report.
The decision to reinstate him will go someway to unifying the various factions within the opposition party but may face backlash from Jewish groups.
