Liam Gallagher apologises for homophobic tweet about Russian hooligans

He regrets his offensive language

Liam Gallagher has taken to Twitter to apologies for homophobic remarks made in a tweet about Russian hooliganism at Euro 2016.

The former Oasis front man sent the tweet earlier in the week in response to reports of more violent clashes between English and Russian supporters.

Gallagher wrote: ‘Russian hooligans skintight shorts bumbags batty boy muscles ha ha I’d be more worried bout getting me arse pinched LG X’

Some suggested that his choice of language was particularly insensitive given the recent Orlando shootings.

A representative for Gallagher claimed the comments were taken out of context and Gallagher sent a brief apology on Thursday.
