It’s the New Year’s Eve photo that’s got everyone talking, but one of its biggest stars has no recollection of the pose that saw him become the centrepiece.
Mike Deveney was pictured in a Titanic-style pose, clutching a beer while lying on the ground in Manchester’s city centre.
But not only can he not explain the decision to lie down in the centre of the street…he has no memory of it even happening.

“I remember nothing at all (about being on the floor),” 47-year-old Deveney told the Manchester Evening News.
“I’m not really bothered about the photo, I just felt a bit daft. I heard about it about two days later.”
Two days later – that must have been some hangover!
