How is this okay?
Video footage of a Transportation Security Administration officer patting down a young boy during a security check at a Texas airport has gone viral, as people find the process unnecessary, unpleasant, and even somewhat sinister.
The video shows the security officer taking all of two minutes to examine the youngster, who is wearing a t-shirt and shorts and did not set off any security alarms. The official appears to complete his prolonged pat down, before returning for more.
The incident took place at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport on Sunday, and the child’s mother is extremely unhappy about the actions of the TSA officer on her son, who suffers from Sensory Processing Disorder.
Jennifer Williamson said she was “livid” with the TSA, and found the experience “horrifying”. “We have been through hell this morning,” she explained. “I didn’t want my child given a pat down like this.”
The TSA have defended their member of staff, and stated that he was following protocol.
This child was patted down by a TSA agent for 2 minutes. Don’t think that’s a long time? Watch until the end. pic.twitter.com/6MG7tRqVsd
