Fans of MasterChef presenter John Torode were given a shock when his partner suddenly announced he’d been rushed to hospital just after Christmas.
Lisa Faulkner shared a picture of the celebrity chef on a bed in St Mary’s Hospital, London, saying only that he was ‘very bruised’ after having a ‘lucky escape’.

Hours before the Christmas Day accident all seemed to be well with the couple with Torode posting a picture of his partner deciding what to have for lunch at the plush Claridge’s Hotel in Mayfair.

So fans were understandably left concerned by the dramatic and unexpected turn of events.
However this morning the presenter tweeted to thank hospital staff and say he was on the mend. He also shed more light on what led to his sudden trip to hospital saying he “just took a tumble whilst out riding”.

The MasterChef star didn’t go into any more detail, leading to some so speculated as to what exactly he was riding when the accident happened.

But on the whole people were just glad to see the TV favourite was doing well and wished him a speedy recovery.
