A man has died in Canada after a freak accident at a McDonald’s drive-thru.
The tragedy happened at about 5.30am on Wednesday morning at a McDonald’s in the city of Vancouver.
Police said the man was paying for his food when he dropped his bank card.
He opened the door and reached out to pick the card up, at which point the car rolled forward, pinning him, police said.
The man, who has not been publicly named, died at the scene.

According to Vancouver Police, some members of the man’s family and staff at the restaurant witnessed the accident.
In a press release, constable Tania Visintin said: “Efforts were made by first responders to revive the man, but tragically, he died on scene.
“This is an absolutely heartbreaking scenario. Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of this man.”
The VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit and BC Coroner Services are now investigating.
According to 680 News, Visintin said that victim services will be made available to the staff at the restaurant as “people aren’t used to seeing this type of incident happen, especially at your workplace.”
She added: “Usually when we hear about a fatal motor vehicle accident it [is] usually, typically a crash with another vehicle. So the fact that no other vehicle was involved… this seems like a freak accident.”
