Fans of the Royals have responded with the level of maturity you’d expect from them

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have revealed to Oprah in their exclusive interview that they had already got married in a private ceremony before their public wedding in May 2018.

That wedding was a huge television event in the UK, and was attended by A-list names from all over the world, but in their interview with the US TV host, they revealed that their real wedding had happened three days beforehand.

“Three days before our wedding we got married. Just the three of us,” said Meghan, admitting that their televised ceremony was a “spectacle” for the watching world.

“No-one knows that – the spectacle was for the world. But we want our union for us.”

The interview, which aired in the United States on Sunday evening, will be shown on British TV screens on Monday night, from 9pm.

After its premiere on American television, a number of revelations about the interview have rocked Royal supporters in the United Kingdom.

One such revelation is that a member of the Palace is claimed to have expressed “concerns” to Prince Harry and Meghan over the skin tone of their son Archie before he was born.

“They were concerned that if he were too brown, that that would be a problem?” Oprah asked.

“I wasn’t able to follow up with why,” said Meghan. “But if that’s the assumption you’re making, I think that feels like a pretty safe one.”
