Donald Trump’s third and current wife Melania Trump has released a statement condemning her husband for his remarks from 2005.
Melania, who has been married to Trump since the year that he made the comments in question, joined many other high-profile Republicans in criticising the nominee for his remarks about women – including the statement: “You can do whatever you want to them. Grab them by the pussy.”
Her statement, made public by the Trump Pence 2016 campaign team begins:
“The words my husband used are unacceptable and offensive to me.”
Melania, who previously worked as a model, did defend her husband, saying “This does not represent the man I know. I hope people will accept his apology, as I have, and focus on the important issues facing our nation and the world.”

Melania Trump found herself in the spotlight earlier this summer when she was caught plagiarising much of her speech at the Republican National Convention from current First Lady Michelle Obama.
