Sky News are reporting that Scotland Yard have asked the Home Office for another year’s worth of funding towards the ongoing search for Madeleine McCann, who went missing in 2007 while on holiday with her family.
Madeleine McCann was just three years old when she disappeared in Praia da Luz, Portugal while her parents were absent.

Just three months ago, the Home Office were reported to have granted the police an additional £150,000 to fund the search, which was intended to last six months.
But in half that time, they are reported to be requesting more funding towards the 12 year long search that has already cost £11.75 million.
In 2013, the Met took it upon themselves to begin ‘Operation Grange’, dissatisfied with the lack of progress that Portuguese police had made on the case.
Madeleine’s parents, Gerry and Kate McCann have both been voiced their support for the ongoing search ever since Madeleine was abducted, writing a book called ‘Madeleine: Our Daughter’s Disappearance and the Continuing Search for Her’ which was published in 2011.
