It could be a white Christmas for some
Parts of the UK could be hit with up to 10 inches of snow this Christmas as temperatures are set to plummet to below zero later this week.
Forecasts show that temperatures could drop to as low as -6C in some places, with Scotland the most likely to see snow on Christmas Day.
On Tuesday, an icy blast is set to hit the UK, with one forecaster saying certain areas of the country could see up to 10 inches of snow on Christmas Day, reports the Mirror.
Meanwhile, an official from the Met Office told LBC that the “odds of a white Christmas this year aren’t too low.”
According to the bookies, the city most likely to see snow on December 25 is Aberdeen with odds of 5/2. Meanwhile, Edinburgh and Glasgow are 3/1.
In England, Newcastle has 3/1 odds for snow on Christmas while the odds for Leeds follow with 7/2.

The Met Office forecast suggest it will get colder towards the New Year.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “At the start of this period it will be settled and predominantly dry with large amounts of cloud, though cloud may well be thick enough for the odd spot of drizzle at times.
“In general, cloud amounts will tend to reduce with time, with a corresponding increase in the risk of overnight fog and frost, which may be slow to clear by day in some areas.”
In the run up to Christmas, conditions are expected to get more unsettled, with cloud appearing in the southwest as well as rain and wintry conditions across different areas.
Drier weather is generally expected along with variable cloud cover but showers are possible on the northern and eastern coasts.
Forecasts say it will turn colder in the North but in contrast the South will get milder, with strong winds possible, especially across the south.
Low temperatures are likely to bring overnight frosts and an increased likelihood of fog.
