It’s no secret that Paul Gascoigne has had his struggles with alcohol down the years.
The former England international has spoken of his problems on many occasions and on Monday we were reminded once again that Gazza continues to struggle with drink addiction when pictures of him were published as part of an ‘exclusive’ in The Sun.
At this point, we’d like to point out that we’re not going to share the pictures or even go into any more detail about them. If you want to see them, go elsewhere. We believe the man – or anyone in such a situation for that matter – deserves help and deserves dignity.
Although those that saw the pictures were understandably concerned for the health of the 49-year-old, many were also quick to condemn The Sun’s decision to publish them.

I should be surprised by the Sun's reporting of Gazza but I can never been surprised by anything that rag produces. Vile.

I hate The Sun newspaper even more so for publishing those pictures of Gazza today. They should be helping and supporting him #HelpForGazza

It breaks my heart to see Gazza falling off the wagon again. I despise The Sun for posting such horrendous pictures. #coys

The Sun continues to be the rag newspaper that it is. Hounding a mentally ill man. Leave Gazza alone
— Carl Frampton MBE (@RealCFrampton) July 11, 2016
It’s worth remembering that addiction is a mental illness. As many point out in the tweets above, Gazza is a man that would benefit more from help than the publishing pictures documenting his latest struggles.
