Wrestling legend Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart today revealed that he has prostate cancer in an incredibly moving message to his fans on Facebook.
A five-time WWF World Heavyweight Champion and widely regarded as one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time, Hart was an iconic figure in the wrestling world throughout the 80s and 90s and has remained involved with the WWE on a sporadic basis in the years since.
On his Facebook page this afternoon, Hart (58) revealed that he is battling with prostate cancer and will undergo surgery in the coming days to “with the hope of defeating this nemesis once and for all”.

Hart said he will be inspired in his fight against prostate cancer by a brave young man named Whesley, who fought brain cancer to the end before succumbing to the illness last year.
Hart ended the message by saying that he wants to be a leader in awareness of prostate cancer worldwide and to set an example for men who find themselves in the same shoes.
