The soldier has been updating followers through Twitter
According to an army veteran in Ukraine, Russian soldiers are leaving their dead where they fall to be eaten by stray dogs.
Ever since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, the inhumanity of Russian forces has been a standout story. From reports of rape to news of humanitarian aid being attacked, the lack of humanity is both unsurprising and heartbreaking. American soldier James Vasquez pledged his service to Ukraine on February 26, only two days after the initial invasion.
By March 14, Vasquez was in Warsaw, Poland, and had been fighting with the foreign legion ever since.
Earlier this week, via Twitter, he said: “Russians refuse to take their dead. Their fallen soldiers are left to be eaten by stray dogs.

“Another example of pieces of s****. Americans would never leave a man or corpse behind.”

Vasquez has been very active on social media, giving those in the West and his 90k followers a unique perspective into the conflict. On March 22, he claimed to have captured 159 Russian soldiers with his unit, and on March 24, he liberated a village from attacking forces.
He wrote: “This village has been Russian occupied for a month; they terrorized the people and took their food.

“Today we entered, took out 7 tanks and countless Russians thus liberating these people.”
Earlier this month, former SAS Operative Phil Campion warned Brits of joining the fight in Ukraine. Talking to the Daily Star, he said: “Make sure you know why you want to go, identify the key reasons why you want to go to Ukraine.
“Identify your skill sets and what you think you can take over there because if you can’t take any skill sets over there, you’re useless.”
