It’s considered polite to offer you seat on public transport to the pregnant and elderly.
If you can stand with ease and encounter someone who can’t, offer your seat. It’s a nice bit of courtesy that keeps us all civil on this football called Planet Earth.
But what with it being the Olympics, we’re learning to expect the unexpected as phenomenal humans pull off some spectacular physical displays.
Olympic fever is so good, it’s even got the spectators pulling off stunts.
Wayne McEntire, a 68-year-old dentist, and his 19-year-old grandson Britton Barker traveled to Rio for what has been the pensioner’s fifth Olympics in a row.
One night after boarding the Metro, a gentleman offered McEntire a seat in the section reserved for elderly passengers.
Wayne politely declined, before doing this:
It turns out Wayne McEntire’s daily workout regime of lightweight but maximum repetition lifting has turned him into something of a superhero, as he pulled off a smart version of the human flag.
“He’s always been one to put on a show and entertain me and my two brothers”, 19 year old Britton in an interview with BuzzFeed. “So I knew he had something that would surely surprise me in store just by the way I saw him walk over to the empty seat.”
