Two members of the US National Guard have been removed from the operation to protect Joe Biden at his inauguration on Wednesday, an Army official and a senior intelligence official anonymously told AP.
The army official and intelligence officer said the two men who were removed had ties to right-wing militias, but no plot to sabotage Biden’s inauguration had been found.
Obviously, the American military and secret service are being very tight lipped on the matter for security reasons.
The officials who spoke to AP did not say which groups the two National Guard members were tied to or in what capacity they served in them.
Security in Washington is on high alert, following the violence that occurred almost two weeks ago at the US Capitol building as Donald Trump supporting insurrectionists stormed inside.
The US Capitol was also put into temporary lockdown on Monday during a rehearsal for Joe Biden’s inauguration due to a security threat.
All 50 states are on high alert in case of violence tomorrow, as large swathes of Trump supporters continue in their attempts to overturn a legitimate election.
