VIDEO: 5-year-old Palestinian child left orphaned by fire-bomb attack gets to meet his hero Ronaldo

When he’s not busy comparing himself to God, Portuguese captain and Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is usually found doing good deeds. Not so arrogant after all…

A five-year-old Palestinian boy who narrowly survived a devastating Israeli fire-bomb attack last year, and who subsequently lost all of his family, has been flown to Madrid to meet with his hero.

Ahmed Dawabsha and his family slept silently in their home as it was firebombed by extremists on July 31 of last year. Two men have since been caught and charged for the arson attack, which left Ahmed orphaned.

Over the past few years Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has been working closely with the Palestinian Football Association’s head Jibril Rajoub, who himself welcomed the news as a…

“…superb humanitarian gesture by Real Madrid, its administration and Cristiano Ronaldo, who are restoring hope for a child who lost his entire family.”

It is hoped that more Palestinian children will have a chance to meet their idols later this year.

Hussein Dawabsha, Ahmed’s Grandfather and only surviving relative, said that the club have also offered a tour of the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, expected to take place this weekend.

He excitedly told AFP:

“We have been invited by Real Madrid, but we don’t know yet which day we will be able to meet the players.”
