“We can disagree without hating each other”
Two political opponents in America, from different parties, have released a joint campaign video in an attempt to promote civility and respect in the country.
Chris Peterson (Republican) and Spencer Cox (Democrat) came together to create a campaign ad, with both of them claiming that they can disagree politically without hating each other.
The ad sees the two of them say: “We can debate issues without degrading each other’s character. We can disagree without hating each other. So let’s show the country there is a better way”
Cox posted the video on his Twitter page, with the caption: “I’m not sure this has ever been done before… but as our national political dialogue continues to decline, my opponent Chris Peterson and I decided to try something different. We can disagree without hating each other. Let’s make Utah an example to the nation.”

This advert comes at a time of intense and often violent political division in America, with president Donald Trump on record as saying that he may not accept the results of the election due to take place on 3 November.
