Let’s hope the launch is smoother than GB News

Former President Donald Trump, a man who lied a staggering 30,573 times during his stint in the White House, is launching a new social media app ironically named Truth.

In a bid to fight back against the “liberal media consortium” and the big thinkers in Silicon Valley, the 75-year-old far-right fanboy is launching his own social media network, reports the Mail Online.

But for a man whose latest venture is based on candour, you’d think he’d be a shining example of the values he seeks to uphold. On the day before the 2020 vote, Trump made 503 false claims in what the Washington Post dubbed a last minute panicked grab for votes.

“By the end of his term, Trump had accumulated 30,573 untruths during his presidency — averaging about 21 erroneous claims a day,” writes Glenn Kessler, Salvador Rizzo and Meg Kelly for the Washington Post.

They continued to say that the most troubling aspect of his lies is the rate at which they increased the further he travelled into his presidency.

“Trump averaged about six claims a day in his first year as president, 16 claims day in his second year, 22 claims day in this third year — and 39 claims a day in his final year,” they wrote.

The new Trump Media & Technology Group will be headed up by the former president, who said: “‘I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech. We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced.

“This is unacceptable. I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon. TMTG was founded with a mission to give a voice to all. I’m excited to soon begin sharing my thoughts on TRUTH Social and to fight back against Big Tech. Everyone asks me why doesn’t someone stand up to Big Tech? Well, we will be soon!”

The app will launch for Beta testers in November, with a rollout planned for early 2022.

However if you still haven’t got your Trump fill then don’t fear, there’s more.

If you have often searched for a streaming platform that stinks of far-right propaganda, then look no further than Trump’s TMTG+.

The streaming platform will play ‘non-woke’ entertainment, news and podcasts- which seems to be a running theme amongst commentators and public figures that have been ‘cancelled’.
