Due to a global IT outage, British Airways customers are facing long delays or outright cancellations of their flights over the next few days.
The company took to Twitter to let people know that they were aware of the issue and were currently working to fix it:

Customers have been issuing complaints about long delays on their flights due to issues at the check-in desks, with some reports of the flights not taking off at all.
At the moment, the company have cancelled all flights set to depart from Heathrow or Gatwick airport before 6pm Saturday, asking customers on board those flights not to come to the airport.
Travellers have been told to check the official website or the company’s Twitter page for updates, but at the time of writing the British Airways website was down, and aside from the above tweet, the company’s Twitter page hasn’t been updated in two days.
Some customers have taken to social media having spent hours in their planes on the runway both prior to take-off and after landing, while BA’s main hub in Terminal 5 of Heathrow looks to be more than little dishevelled.

If you are flying with BA this weekend, or have any flights to or from Heathrow or Gatwick, check with the airport first to ensure that your flight has not been cancelled or severely delayed.
