“We would like to start by apologising to you for not showing the game on base last-gen consoles before it premiered and, in consequence, not allowing you to make a more informed decision about your purchase”
CD Projekt Red have announced they will offer refunds to anyone unhappy with Cyberpunk 2077.
The long-awaited RPG has faced a large backlash online after the released version was found to be full of bugs, and there has also been disappointment with how the game looks on last-gen consoles.
In a statement released on Monday morning, CD Projeckt Red apologised for not showing PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gameplay, and promised to fix bugs and crashes.
Unhappy players with boxed versions are told to return the game to the store where the game was purchased, or email CD Projeckt Red directly. Gamers who purchased it digitally should use the PSN or Xbox refund system.

The comparisons between the PC and console versions of Cyberpunk 2077 have also been met with scorn.

“We would like to start by apologising to you for not showing the game on base last-gen consoles before it premiered and, in consequence, not allowing you to make a more informed decision about your purchase,” CD Projeckt Red said. “We should have paid more attention to making it play better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.”
The publishers say that two patches for the game will be released in January and February.
“Together these should fix the most prominent problems gamers are facing on last-gen consoles,” the statement continued. “They won’t make the game on last-gen look like it’s running on a high-spec PC or next-gen console, but it will be closer to that experience than it is now.”
Cyberpunk 2077 has had a tumultuous development history. The game was originally announced in 2012, with the first teaser trailer released in 2013. It was first slated for an April 2020 release, but faced multiple delays and eventually arrived on December 10th.
