If you’re a 24-year-old bloke with brown hair who spends a lot of time at the gym, we’ve got some bad news for you.
According to a survey of the British public, you’re the demographic most likely to have a sexually transmitted infection.
Over half of British males between 18 and 30 have contracted an STI at some stage, but it’s the gym-goers with only a couple of sexual partners who fit the profile.
The survey, conducted by online pharmacy UKMedix, has identified the profile of the ‘typical’ male and female who is currently carrying an STI.
The male is 24 years old and six feet tall, weighs 13 stone and seven pounds, and considers the gym to be their main hangout spot.
As for the ladies, the typical STI carrier is 18 years old, 5’7″ and 11 stone 4, and a regular at bars, pubs and nightclubs who is very sexually active (that means they have had five or more sexual partners).
Perhaps most surprisingly, though, both the typical male and the typical female on the list have brown hair. That’s one stereotype about blondes out of the window.
