Even in a year as crazy as 2020, with all that’s going on, Kim Kardashian West still possesses an almost unrivalled ability to provoke discussion worldwide via her social media feed.
Days after revealing her private island birthday getaway that sparked a million memes, the reality TV star divulged more details from her 40th birthday celebrations that got the world talking all over again.
This time around, it was a gift from her husband, Kanye West, that sparked interest, a gift in the form of a hologram of her late father, Robert Kardashian, who first rose to fame as a defence attorney in the OJ Simpson murder trial in the mid-‘90s.
In the hologram message, which lasts for a little over two minutes, Robert recalls memories from Kim’s childhood, praises her for the businesses she has established and for drawing attention to the plight of the Armenian people.
He describes her as the “most amazing mother” to her four children, but reserves his most gushing praise for her husband and provider of the gift, Kanye West, whom he describes as “the most, most, most, most, most genius man in the whole world”.

The gift certainly went down a treat, with Kardashian West describing it as “special surprise from heaven” and saying that “we watched it over and over, filled with emotion”.
“I can’t even describe what this meant to me and my sisters, my brother, my mom and closest friends to experience together,” she added.
“Thank you so much Kanye for this memory that will last a lifetime.”

A company by the name of Kaleida have claimed credit for the production of the hologram and perhaps unwittingly revealed it to have been broadcast in Tahiti, giving away the “secret” location of Kim’s birthday celebrations in the process.
