PIC: A new Banksy has popped up on the French Embassy in London

Kevin Beirne

Street artist Banksy has had his say on the Calais migrant crisis with a new installation in central London.

The mysterious artist is known for his poignant graffiti work with a strong political message, and the meaning behind this latest piece is clear as day.

His latest artwork, which was painted on the side of the French Embassy in London, is a take on the iconic poster from Les Miserables – a musical about the French revolution.

In Banksy’s version, we see Cosette with tears streaming down her face as tear gas billows around her.

At the bottom left corner of the piece is a QR code. When scanned, you are brought to a video of a police raid on the refugee camps in Calais.

The piece was quickly covered by officials.
