He already boasts 3.9 million followers on Twitch
Sergio Agüero has signed a content creator deal with Disney Plus just a few months after retiring from football due to heart trouble.
After hanging up his boots in December, the 33-year-old former Barcelona striker has been an avid Twitch streamer. Agüero racked up an impressive 3.9 million followers, and it seems streaming giant Disney Plus has taken notice.
Announcing the news to his 22.5m Instagram followers, Agüero posted a video tagged with Disney Plus, Star Plus and ESPN Argentina.

He said: “You already know how I was on the football field and the commitment with which I faced my career, in each of the clubs I played for and in the Argentine national team.
“All of them allowed me to develop, grow and show myself as I am. In this new stage of my life, I wanted to find a place where I can also apply that same formula.
“Joining a company at the level of Disney fits perfectly in that search.”
Disney later confirmed the partnership on Twitter, replying to their new talent’s tweet with “New things are coming.”
ESPN Argentina also noted the partnership, writing: “Welcome, pa! Ready to enjoy the best games with you, Kun!”
The exact nature of the project is yet to be revealed.

Agüero was diagnosed with a heart arrhythmia after he experienced difficulty breathing and chest pain during a match between Barcelona and Alaves on October 30, 2021.
While medics initially advised that he take a break, it was later announced that he would retire. A cardiologist told the footballer that his health issues were down to a scar near his heart from a previous incident.
But, Agüero did hint at a possible football return when he told TYC Sports: “Yesterday, it crossed my mind that I could play again. Inter Miami called me but I refused. In two years? Let’s see.”
