The blaze appears to be at Elephant and Castle station.
A major fire has broken out in London, with smoke coming out of Elephant and Castle station.
Thameslink confirmed the news of the blaze, tweeting: “We’ve had reports of a fire next to the track at Elephant and Castle. Further info to follow shortly.”

As of yet, it is unclear whether anyone has been injured in the fire.
In videos from witnesses, plumes of black smoke can be seen emanating from the station.
One witness wrote on Twitter: “Smoke still pouring out, the area under the station is called Little Columbia and there are numerous small Colombian shops and eateries which are now covered in thick black smoke. Ambulances and fire fighting crew in attendance.”

Thameslink have announced that all lines through Elephant & Castle are currently blocked and the fire brigade are on site and are assessing the situation.
London Fire Brigade has said that 10 fire engines and around 70 firefighter are attending the blaze, and have told people to avoid the area and close all doors and windows.
The service later tweeted: “Three commercial units underneath the railway arches are completely alight and four cars and a telephone box are also alight near #ElephantandCastle Railway Station.
“Road closures are in place and people are advised to avoid the area and keep windows and doors closed.”
They also added that they had “taken nearly fifty 999 calls.”

Footage also shows a large explosion going off at the scene as well.

The Metro reports that there are suggestions from witnesses that the fire may have originated from a vehicle repair shop based near the Elephant and Castle station.
