Piers Morgan talks a lot of sense about US gun control and LGBT solidarity

You mightn't like Morgan, but it's hard to disagree with him here

“If you are a peace-loving person, be there”.

As tributes pour in from around the world, it’s Piers Morgan’s appearance on ITV’s This Morning that everyone should see and act on.

London Pride season is currently taking place until June 26, and almost 300 groups – charities, community groups, corporates and businesses, faith groups, political parties and public bodies – will take part in the Pride Parade on June 25.

All you have to do is be there. It’s that simple.

Morgan, who opposes the Second Amendment to the US Constitution and lobbied for gun control in America on his CNN programme, Tonight, joined Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield in studio this morning.

Morgan urged people to get out and join in the Pride celebrations.

“Whether you’re gay, straight, black, white, Islamic… if you are a peace-loving person that thinks you do not want your life to be dictated to by these barbaric medieval monsters, then get out and march”.

“We’re all in this together”.

In an interview with The Times last year, Morgan blamed the loss of his CNN slot on his stance on gun control and a long-standing feud with the National Rifle Association.

“Look, I am a British guy debating American cultural issues, including guns, which has been very polarising, and there is no doubt that there are many in the audience who are tired of me banging on about it.”

“If only I didn’t care so passionately about guns, perhaps I wouldn’t have chased away a grand American audience.”
